Christmas Candle Holders

Company: Lidón Campos

23, December, 3, 4 and 5 January, 11.30am

Price: €4 (both children and adults)

Recommended for one adult and one child between the ages of 4 and 6

This year, brighten up your Christmas with your own light! Design a Christmas candle holder as a family to add an extra glow to your decorations this festive season. Choose whatever shape you like best—perhaps one to hold a big candle or maybe one in the shape of a T—, think about how you want to decorate it and… go for it!

In this workshop, accompanied by a grown-up, your children will use modelling clay to create a candle holder and then decorate it as they like, making each one different and full of personality.

It’s a great way to spend some time together as a family. You’ll take it home with you and when it’s completely dry, you can add the finishing touches of colour with the paints of your choice and… now all you have to do is light the candles!

Discovering and reinventing basket weaving

Company: Alejandro Abarzúa

23 December, 1 noon and 5:30pm

3 and 4 January, 5:30pm

Price: €5 (both children and adults)

Recommended for one adult and one child over 12 years of age

The idea of this workshop is to stimulate creativity through basket weaving and working with our hands. We will learn by playing and sharing as a family, creating an intergenerational exchange, encouraging collaboration, valuing each moment and connecting with the here and now.

We will weave with different materials: from natural fibres to more non-traditional materials such as rope, old T-shirts, cardboard and packaging.

In short, we will create together by reusing, transforming and imagining new objects and artistic creations. How about it?

We’ll use modelling clay to mould the bowl into the shape of your choice and then we’ll decorate it so that you can make your design a reality. You’ll take your bowl home with you and then when it’s completely dry, you can decorate it with the paints of your choice to give it the finishing touches.

You don't need to have worked with clay before. You'll soon see how much fun it is getting your hands all dirty! Fun guaranteed!

Have you ever played Secret Santa at Christmas and not known what to give as a pressy? Have you ever had to scrape the bottom of your piggy bank to buy a Christmas present for your classmates or relatives? Well, we have the solution to your problems right here!

In this workshop we will learn how to make our own games and toys which in turn will help us to realise that we don't have to buy everything. This will encourage us all to consume much more responsibly and to look after the environment by reusing materials that we would normally just throw away.

We will make our own toys, which we can either give as gifts or use to play with our family and friends.

The Magic of Glassblowing

Company: Diego Rodríguez

3 and 4 January, 5pm

Price: €6 (both children and adults)

Recommended for one adult and one child over 12 years of age

The glassblowing workshops are back! We hope to celebrate, share and spread the love of this ancient art because sadly there are fewer and fewer master glassblowers out there and it is likely to disappear if we don’t cultivate and cherish it as it deserves and needs.

And the fact is that glassblowing is an unforgettable experience. And we really want young and old alike to experience and enjoy it.

We will create air bubbles inside a mass of glass straight out of the oven. While it’s still warm, we’ll change its appearance by shaping it with our own hands to give it whatever form pops into our heads! And the best thing is… you’re going to make it yourself!

¡Panetón, ton, ton!

Company: La Quinta Cocina

27, 28, 29 and 30 December, 11.30 noon

Price: € 5

Recommended for children only, from 5 to 10 years of age

Those special days have come around again, those days when we all get together at home, sharing time, space, memories… And also lots of laughter and fun and games, a few nervous moments and other intense moments that will become new places to return to in our memories, many of them spent in the kitchen up to our ears in sourdough, carefully presented trays and lovingly presented gifts for the palate.

Because after all, who doesn’t remember home cooking at Christmas? More or less elaborate, really simple, modest or exuberant, who cares? Cooking is always creativity, complicity, bonding. So, having said all that… Who fancies doing a bit of cooking with us?

We invite you to learn how to make a panettone that’ll blow them away next Christmas. We’ll learn how to make the dough, we’ll watch it bake and we’ll take a delicious slice home with us! Now I ask you. Does that sound irresistible or does that sound irresistible?

Print Play

Company: En Volandas

3 and 4 January, 12 noon

Price: €5 (both children and adults)

Recommended for one adult and one child between the ages of 2 and 5

Circles, triangles, squares, diamonds, rectangles…! Geometric shapes are everywhere you look in our daily lives. Print Play is a stamping and printing activity for children and their families, based on play and geometric shapes.

By identifying them, by arranging them in space and by encouraging the children to think logically, we can create landscapes, characters or situations from our everyday lives, all using the graphic technique of stamping with large format modular ink pads.

Using different shaped ink pads and dynamic games, we will help children to recognise and identify geometric shapes and bodies and to explore the infinite possibilities of this graphic technique.

Picasso: Engraved Portraits

Company: En Volandas

3 and 4 January, 6pm

Price: €5

Recommended for children only, from 6 to 9 years of age

Our aim in this workshop is to explore Picasso’s facet as an engraver, more specifically his use of linoleum, applying the innovations and unique ideas that the artist put into practice when working with this material.

We will explore the artist from Malaga’s portraits of women to learn all about his linocut technique and we will create our own personal portrait, using linoleum sheets with the most characteristic elements that we can find in a face: mouths, eyes, noses, heads, ears… The participants will use a roller to apply ink to different sheets of linoleum and then pass the matrix through the press to obtain a unique print, thus completing the whole process of creating a graphic image using this technique so often used by Picasso.
