Lugar: Plaza de Cibeles
5 January, 6:30 pm
It has always been said that the Three Kings who went to worship the newborn baby Jesus were Magi—in other words, they were versed in magic or practised magic. Magic is the occult art or science which uses certain actions or words, or the intervention of imaginary beings, to produce results that contradict the laws of nature. This year's parade will revolve around magic and the marvellous effect of making something unreal appear real. We will be transported to a world of fantasy and unreality, full of music and colour.
We will do everything possible, just for one night, to make children's dreams come true. We will invite fairies, magicians and sorcerers. We will transport you to a world of magic and fantasy, with acts by magicians, conjurers, jugglers, astrologists, astronomers and the practitioners of other arts and disciplines.
We will have a whole world of fairy-tale floats in which magicians will be the main characters:
Merlin the Wizard, the Wizard of Oz, the Great Houdini…
And to end the night, the arrival of the Three Kings, the three wise men of Orient who studied the sky and stars, the Magi in the true sense of the word, who travelled from Europe, Africa and Asia and made our dreams come true, by "MAGIC".
The parade will go across Paseo of Castellana. It starts in San Juan de la Cruz Square and finishes in Cibeles Square.
